“Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.

Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.”

– Isaiah 50:7 (NIV)

Daily Meditation: Isaiah 50, Exodus 34:29-35

As daughters of God, shame has no place in our lives. He loves us deeply and unconditionally. And the more we understand his grace, the more bold and fearless our lives become. We can be confident in our identities as daughters of God.

Set your “face like flint,” and do not worry about what anyone else dares to think, say, or do. Focus wholly on following God and doing the Father’s will. Bask in his love. Your life will reflect a holy confidence! With God as your father, you can be:

  •   Bold
  •   Courageous
  •   Strong
  •   Powerful
  •   Beautiful
  •   Amazing

How? By simply being you. You reflect the characteristics of those you spend time with, so spend time with God. Then his love and confidence will burst out of you and overflow! I love the story about Moses speaking with God on Mt. Sinai; when Moses came back down from the mountain, his face shone, simply from being in the presence of God. Fix your gaze on God, and like Moses, you will shine! And when you have set your face like flint, don’t look back.

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

Be fearless: Call it what you want, there is a time and a place to not back down. Spend time with the Father and you’ll be able to walk in confidence and boldness, secure in the knowledge that you are God’s precious daughter! Then the world had better watch out, because you—the daughter of the King—are coming through.
